    • APCON conducts exams Awards diploma certificate in advertising to successfull candidates.
    • Organises seminars on Integrated Marketing Communication for the Industry and the general public.
  5. How does APCON regulate advertisements?
    • There are standards of knowledge required of Advertising Pratitioners
    • Ensures that only substantiated claims are used in ads.
    • Stops ads that are misleading.
    • Stops Claims that are spurious.
    • Carries out verification exercises on sales promotion to ensure that claims made are not.

  7. What is the difference between APCON and AAAN?
    • APCON is, "Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria", a Federal government agency responsible for the regulation and control of advertising.
    • AAAN (formerly AAPN) is, "Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria", a voluntary but recognized sectorial group in Nigeria's advertising industry.
    • Is APCON an Association?
      • APCON is not an Association. Rather it is a council, thereby connoting possession of a legal authority to act in the general interest of the advertising industry. It is a Federal Government regulatory agency.
    • What are the benefits of being a member of APCON?
      • Because its is neither a club nor an association, there are, obviously no immediate social benefits attached to registration, the sole benefit therefore is the possession of license to practice.
    • Can one be a Member of APCON
      • Members of APCON are the same as members of the governing Council.
        However, a practitioner can be registered to become a member of the advertising profession. Such an individual is not a member of APCON.

        Members of APCON are either elected or nominated by their sectorial groups to serve on the Council of APCON.

    • How can one register as a contractor or supplier with APCON?
      • To register as a contractor with APCON one needs to write a letter of introduction supported with photocopies of Certificate of Incorporation of the Company.

    • Does APCON register corporate organizations?
      • For now, APCON does not. However, the Law which sets up the council is being reviewed to empower APCON to do so.
