Council Members 2007

Act No. 55 of 1988 provides for the constitution of a twenty-one member APCON Council. This Council which is headed by a Chairman appointed by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has representatives from the following organizations:

  • AAPN, now renamed AAAN (Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (Ten persons to be elected by the Association).

  • Seven persons to be appointed by the Minister, one of whom shall be from the Ministry and the others from among other Interests In the field of advertising, which in the opinion of the Minister ought to be adequately represented.
  • Two persons to represent institutions of higher learning in Nigeria offering courses leading to an approved qualification, to be appointed by the Minister in rotation.

The first Council to be inaugurated was headed by Mr. I.S. Moemeke as Chairman. It served for two terms from the inception of APCON till December 1999. The third with Chief Olu Falomo as Chairman served from 2000 to 2003.
